We held a blind public sale on an incrementing price schedule right here on this website! This sale started on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 7:00 PM UTC. Currently, Pixls are still for sale, but they will be unidentified when you mint them. Every Friday at 19:00 UTC the last week's worth of mints will be revealed.
Right now, there's still no way of knowing. We feel it keeps some of the fun in the process to explore the project further after the reveal. Therefore, which Pixls you'll be buying is up to chance. We want to keep the distribution of the different rarity levels as randomized as possible. When the initial reveal date expired we randomized the starting sequence. Because not all Pixls sold out, we randomized this order again to prevent people from know what they'll mint ahead of time.
As all Pixls are part of the same shared universe, they will either be sold until they're sold out or minted by us at Pixls. That way they can be used e.g. as community incentives. Since the relationships between Pixls are based on all possible Pixls existing, burning Pixls would interfere with that system. Also, burning them hurts them, and that's just sad and sadistic.
Yes, you can! Pixls adhere to the ERC-721 standard, so they can be traded publicly on platforms such as OpenSea. Do make sure you're buying only Pixls that are contained within the verified collection! These are the only verifiably legitimate Pixls backed by provenance.
Every Pixl has a list of public attributes, but can also contain some hidden attributes. Some of these are visual in nature, some are hidden in their character traits and biographies. Somewhere after the public ends we will release a Pixl explorer on this website that lets you freely browse through them based on their attributes and rarities. However, we firmly believe that at least part of the fun lies in finding out which Pixls are rare for yourself. Until that time we encourage you to enjoy the hunt for these unique attributes and remember to have fun along the way!
You own your Pixls digitally, but are free to do with them as you please. This includes, but is not limited to e.g. printing them for displaying them in the physical world. If you do decide to do something cool with it, don't hesitate to reach out to us on Twitter to show off your handywork!
We view our little Pixls as the beginning of its own little universe. Having a bunch of inhabitants is just the first step in that process. As this project is a one-man team effort, future plans are also dependant on the level of community interest. Initially Pixls should be appreciated for what they are; quirky, little, bouncy pieces of art.
